Inarius is an angel born from the Crystal Arch and served as an advisor to the Angiris Council. He grew disillusioned with the Eternal Conflict and sought to end it. He met Lilith, daughter of the Prime Evil Mephisto, and together they formed a plan to create a new world called Sanctuary where angels and demons could coexist.

 They had a son named Rathma, and their union gave birth to the nephalem, a powerful race. Inarius, concerned about their power, tried to diminish it but Lilith wanted to use their power to rule over both the High Heavens and the Burning Hells.

Eventually he banished Lilith and imprisoned her in the Void. Inarius later clashed with Uldyssian, a nephalem who opposed him, and was defeated. He was taken into custody by Mephisto and tortured in Hell. 

Inarius returned to Sanctuary after Malthael's actions and sought a way back to Heaven. He reestablished the Cathedral of Light and gathered followers.

Inarius was killed by Lilith when he confronted her in Hell after he murdered their son. 

The "maverick" of the Council. Formerly an impartial dispenser of justice, his disposition changed at the end of the Sin War, which put him at odds with Imperius. Aided humanity secretly through the Horadrim, chose to become mortal when called to answer for his actions. Has since taken on the aspect of Wisdom in addition to Justice. Wields El'druin, the Sword of Justice. Corresponding domain was the Courts of Justice.

Mostly aloof, though is closest with Auriel. Reads Talus'ar, the Scroll of Fate, which allows them to see future events. Corresponding domain is the Library of Fate.
